On Normal difficulty the median run ends around level 9, so anything past that is above average. Level 12 puts you around the top 10% of players and level 14+ is top-few-percent territory. The game shows your approximate percentile on the results screen for Normal runs, since that is the mode most comparable between players.

No — order does not matter here. The tiles flash on essentially together and you can recall them in any order you like, which makes this a test of spatial pattern memory. If you want the version where order is everything, try the Sequence Memory test instead; the two measure related but distinct abilities.

Casual starts with fewer lit tiles and shows the pattern for 1.5 seconds — good for kids or warming up. Normal is the standard: three targets to start and a one-second flash. Hard begins on a 4×4 grid with four targets and only 0.8 seconds to memorise. Personal bests are saved per difficulty, so switching modes never wipes your record.

Yes — stop memorising individual squares and start seeing shapes. Grouping the lit tiles into a letter, a diagonal line or a triangle converts many positions into one object, which is far easier to hold. Fixating on the centre of the grid instead of scanning also helps, because it lets your peripheral vision capture the whole pattern at once.

The run ends and any lit tiles you never found are revealed with a star, so you can see exactly which part of the pattern slipped. You then get your final level, your saved best for that difficulty, and — on Normal — a percentile estimate of how your run compares with typical players.
