About Free QR Code Generator
This free QR code generator turns any link or text into a scannable QR code the moment you type it — the preview re-renders live, and one click downloads a crisp PNG. There is no signup, no watermark, and no expiry: the codes it makes are static QR codes, meaning your data is encoded directly into the pattern itself rather than routed through a tracking or redirect service.
That static design is the practical difference from many “free trial” QR services. A code generated here keeps working for as long as the destination exists, because there is no middleman server that can shut down, start charging, or log every scan. Generation happens in your browser, so the URL or text you encode is never sent anywhere.
You can pick from four output sizes — 160, 220, 300 or 400 pixels — depending on whether the code is headed for a screen, a business card or a poster. Codes are generated with error-correction level M, which lets a scanner recover the data even if roughly 15% of the pattern is obscured or damaged — a sensible middle ground that keeps codes reliable without making them overly dense.

Frequently asked questions
No. These are static QR codes: the link or text is encoded directly in the black-and-white pattern, so the code works forever with nothing to renew. Codes only “expire” on services that generate dynamic QR codes, which point to a redirect URL on their server — when your trial ends or the service shuts down, those codes die. A static code fails only if the destination page itself is taken down.
Download the 400px version for anything printed and scale it in your layout — never enlarge a small PNG, as blurry edges break scanning. As a rule of thumb, the printed code should be at least one-tenth of the intended scanning distance: about 2 × 2 cm for a business card scanned up close, and 10 cm or more per metre of distance for a poster.
Technically a few thousand characters, but density is the enemy of scannability: the more data you encode, the finer the modules and the harder the code is to scan, especially printed small. For links, keep URLs short (or use a short URL) — a compact code scans faster and more reliably from farther away.
Yes — because the generator encodes any text, you can paste the standard WiFi payload format: WIFI:T:WPA;S:YourNetworkName;P:YourPassword;; (replace the name and password, and keep the semicolons). Phones that scan it will offer to join the network automatically. The same trick works for other text payloads like plain phone numbers or short notes.
The usual culprits are size, contrast and quiet zone. Make sure the code is printed large enough for the scanning distance, keep it dark-on-light (this tool's black-on-white output is ideal), and leave a clear margin around it — the white border included in the download should not be cropped away. Encoding very long text also makes codes dense and fragile; shorten the URL if scanning is unreliable.
