About Merge PDF
This free merge PDF tool combines two or more PDF files into a single document directly in your browser. Nothing is uploaded: your files are read locally and their pages are copied into a new PDF on your own device. That matters when you are merging contracts, bank statements, medical records or ID scans — documents you would never want sitting on a stranger's server.
The merge is lossless. Instead of re-printing or re-rendering pages, the tool copies each page object — text, fonts, images and vector graphics — unchanged into the combined file, so the merged output looks pixel-identical to the originals and text stays selectable. Files are joined top-to-bottom in the order they appear in your list: add them in the sequence you want, or remove a file and re-add it to move it to the end.

No. The tool copies each page's underlying objects — fonts, images and vector graphics — into the new file rather than rasterizing pages into pictures. Text remains selectable and searchable, images keep their original resolution, and the merged file size is roughly the sum of the inputs. Nothing is recompressed.
Files are merged top-to-bottom in the order shown in the list, and pages inside each file keep their original order. Add your files in the sequence you want them to appear; if one is in the wrong place, remove it and re-add it so it drops to the end of the list.
Scanned PDFs merge fine — to the tool they are simply pages containing images. Password-protected (encrypted) PDFs cannot be opened without the password, so they will trigger an error; remove the password first (open the PDF with the password and re-save or print-to-PDF), then merge.
There is no artificial limit — no page caps or daily quotas. The practical ceiling is your device's memory, because the whole merge happens in the browser. Documents totalling hundreds of pages merge comfortably on a modern phone or laptop; extremely large scans (hundreds of megabytes) may take longer or fail on low-memory devices.
One of the selected files is corrupted, encrypted with a password, or is not really a PDF — a common case is another file type renamed with a .pdf extension. Remove files one at a time and retry to find the culprit, then re-export that document as a fresh PDF.
