About Express Entry PR Timeline Planner

This Express Entry timeline planner maps every remaining step between where you are today and landing in Canada as a permanent resident. Pick your current stage — just researching, waiting on an ECA, sitting in the pool, or already past AOR — and it builds an editable roadmap with an estimated landing window, a progress bar and dated milestones for the pool, ITA, AOR and final approval.

Each step starts from a typical 2026 duration: around 45 days for an Educational Credential Assessment, 30 days to book and receive a language test result, 60 days in the pool waiting for an Invitation to Apply, and 150 days of post-AOR processing, reflecting IRCC's six-month service standard for most Express Entry applications. A pace setting scales everything at once — optimistic runs each step at 0.7×, cautious at 1.4× — and a PNP toggle inserts a provincial-nomination step. If you know a step will take longer (a slow ECA provider, a busy PNP stream), drag its slider and the whole timeline recalculates. The landing estimate is shown as a month range rather than a single date, because every step has a real minimum–maximum spread.

The planner runs entirely in your browser: your stage, dates and edits are saved on your device only, never uploaded. When the plan looks right, export the milestones as an .ics file to drop them straight into Google or Apple Calendar, or share the timeline with family who are waiting on the same dates.

Frequently asked questions

Starting from zero, the typical pipeline in this planner adds up to roughly 12 months: about 45 days for the ECA, 30 for a language test, a few days to enter the pool, around 60 days waiting for an ITA, 30 days preparing the e-APR, then roughly 150 days of processing plus landing prep. If you already have your AOR, the remaining stretch is usually six to seven months. Fast cases finish sooner and complex ones take longer — that is why the tool shows a range, not a promise.

It starts at AOR — the Acknowledgement of Receipt you get after submitting your complete e-APR. IRCC aims to finalize most Express Entry applications within six months of that point, which covers biometrics, medicals and background checks. The planner uses 150 days as the typical processing duration and lets you stretch it up to a year if your case involves extra verification.

Toggling the PNP step adds a nomination phase of about 90 days (streams range from roughly 30 to 240 days) before your ITA. That makes the overall journey longer on paper, but a nomination adds 600 CRS points, which effectively guarantees an invitation at the next draw — so for candidates with lower scores it is often the faster route to an ITA in practice.

Exactly 60 days. Once your Invitation to Apply arrives you must submit your electronic Application for Permanent Residence (e-APR) with police certificates, proof of funds and all supporting documents within that window, or the invitation expires. The planner defaults this step to 30 days, which is realistic if your documents are mostly gathered — edit it upward if you still need police certificates from multiple countries.

Yes — the "Add milestones to calendar" button downloads a standard .ics file containing your estimated pool entry, ITA, AOR, approval and landing dates as all-day events. Import it into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. If you later change a duration or your pace assumption, just export a fresh file.
