About Kids Math — Add & Subtract with Pictures
Kids Math teaches addition and subtraction within 10 the way children naturally learn it — by counting real things. Every problem appears two ways at once: as a numeral equation (3 + 2 = ?) and as tappable picture objects, from apples and balloons to butterflies and unicorns. For addition the pictures sit in two groups joined by a plus sign; for subtraction the objects being taken away are crossed out in red, so children can literally count what is left.
Children tap each picture to hear the count spoken aloud, or press "Count for me" and the tool counts the objects one at a time, lighting each up and finishing with the total. Then they pick from four answer buttons. A right answer brings confetti, a star and a growing streak; a wrong one gets a friendly "count them and try again" — and the same problem stays on screen, so children recount until it clicks instead of skipping past mistakes.
Four levels grow with the child: Add to 5, Add to 10, Subtract and Mixed, matching the arithmetic expectations of kindergarten and Grade 1 (roughly ages 4–7). Stars, streak and best score are saved on the device, and everything runs in the browser with big, projector-friendly numerals — nothing to install and nothing sent anywhere, so it works equally well on a classroom smartboard, a school Chromebook or a parent's phone.

Addition with sums up to 5 or up to 10, and subtraction within 10 — the core kindergarten and Grade 1 range. The Mixed level interleaves the two operations, which forces children to read the plus or minus sign instead of assuming every question is addition, a habit worth building early.
Children move from concrete to abstract: first they count objects one by one ("counting all"), later they count on from the bigger number, and eventually they recall facts instantly. Showing 3 + 2 = ? directly above the pictures links the symbols to real quantities from day one, so the equation is never just squiggles — it is a story about apples.
There is no buzzer or fail screen. The chosen button shakes briefly, the voice says "try again — count them!", the streak resets and the very same problem stays on screen. Keeping the problem in place matters: the child learns that recounting fixes mistakes, rather than being handed a new question they might fluke.
Using the take-away model most workbooks use: the tool shows all the starting objects, crosses out the ones being subtracted in red, and the child counts the ones still standing. For 7 − 3, seven cupcakes appear with three crossed out — count the remaining four and you have the answer. Tapping any remaining object speaks its count aloud.
