Device & Sensor Tests

Test the hardware you already own: check every key and rollover on a keyboard, hunt dead pixels with fullscreen colours, measure your real internet speed with ping and jitter, verify your webcam, mic and speakers before a call, measure room loudness in decibels, and screen your colour vision and hearing age — all in the browser, nothing installed.

Then it gets more inventive. Your phone’s sensors become instruments: a real bubble level and protractor, a sonar tape measure that ranges walls with an inaudible chirp, a camera eyedropper that grabs real-world colours as HEX, a calibrated on-screen ruler, two phones turned into a directional sound radar, and a pendulum experiment that measures local gravity.

All sensor data — camera, microphone, motion — is processed live on your device and never leaves it or gets stored. These tools earn their keep before buying a second-hand laptop, when debugging a flaky mic ahead of an interview call, while hanging a shelf straight, or simply for proving your reflexes and hearing age to a sceptical friend.

Device & Sensor Tools — frequently asked questions

No. All sensor streams are processed in real time on your device and never recorded, stored or transmitted — permissions are used for the test in front of you and nothing else.

Good enough to be genuinely useful: the spirit level reads your device’s real tilt sensors, the sonar tape and pendulum tools explain their physics and error margins, and the on-screen ruler is exact once calibrated against a bank card.

Only because the test itself uses that hardware — a mic test must hear the mic, a webcam test must see the camera. Deny the permission and the rest of the site works normally.

No — they are well-made screenings for fun and awareness. If a result concerns you, treat it as a prompt to see an audiologist or optometrist, not as a diagnosis.
