About CPS Test — Click Speed
CPS stands for clicks per second — the standard measure of raw clicking speed, popularized by Minecraft PvP and competitive browser games. This test starts the timer on your very first click (which also counts), then divides your total clicks by the elapsed time. You can click, tap on a touchscreen, or hammer the spacebar; key auto-repeat from holding the bar down is filtered out so the score stays honest.
Five modes cover different styles of speed. The 1-second twitch mode measures pure burst, the classic 5-second and standard 10-second modes are what most CPS scores online refer to, the 100-second endurance mode punishes weak stamina, and the race mode flips the format — it times how fast you can land exactly 100 clicks. Most people land between 4 and 7 CPS on the 5-second test; 8 to 9 is genuinely quick, and sustained scores above 10 usually mean a technique like jitter clicking (vibrating a tensed forearm) or butterfly clicking (alternating two fingers on the same button).
While you play, a live CPS readout updates in real time, and the result card adds a pace-over-time bar chart built from the timestamp of every click, so you can literally see where fatigue set in. Expect your 1-second score to be noticeably higher (a short burst is easy to sustain) and your 100-second score to be lower, since fatigue drags the average down over a long run.
Stamina. Finger and forearm muscles fatigue within seconds at maximum effort, so a pace you can hold for 5 seconds collapses over 100. The pace chart on the result screen makes this visible — most people start strong and fade steadily. Treat the long mode as an endurance benchmark and the short modes as burst benchmarks; they measure different things.
Jitter clicking means tensing your forearm so your hand vibrates rapidly over the button — practiced players reach 10 to 14 CPS this way. Butterfly clicking alternates two fingers (usually index and middle) on the same button, effectively doubling your rate. Both take practice and can strain your hand, so warm up and stop if anything hurts.
