Water adds to the strain. Dyeing and printing are water-intensive processes in a semi-arid region, and monitoring effluent treatment and water reuse is increasingly expected of operators — yet reporting around common effluent treatment plants remains largely manual. On the growth side, most fabric, yarn and henna manufacturers and exporters still depend entirely on third-party marketplaces like IndiaMART, ExportersIndia and JustDial for online visibility, rather than owning a website that generates direct leads. And for units selling into export markets, the quality and traceability documentation international buyers expect is usually assembled by hand rather than pulled from a system.
