About Pomodoro Focus Timer
The Pomodoro Technique was created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s and named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer he used as a student. The idea is simple: work in a single focused sprint — a "pomodoro" — then take a short break, and after four sprints take a longer one. Splitting the day into timed chunks makes big tasks feel approachable and gives your attention a clear finish line to aim for.
This timer runs that rhythm for you. The default is a 25-minute focus block, a 5-minute short break and a 15-minute long break, but every length is adjustable. It auto-cycles — a long break arrives after every fourth focus session — and the ring counts down while the browser tab title mirrors the clock so you can glance at it from another tab. When a session ends you get an optional desktop notification.
Because the countdown is anchored to a wall-clock deadline rather than a ticking counter, it stays accurate even when a background tab is throttled by the browser. Your finished pomodoros, today's focus time and your all-time total are kept in this browser's local storage, so your streak is waiting the next time you open the page. Nothing is uploaded and no account is needed.

Twenty-five minutes is the classic pomodoro length: long enough to make real progress, short enough that starting never feels daunting and your focus rarely drifts. It is only a default here, though — set the focus, short-break and long-break lengths to whatever suits your work, and the timer remembers them.
Yes. It tracks the real end time rather than counting seconds, so even when the browser slows background timers the remaining time is recalculated from the clock when you return. The tab title also shows a live countdown, so you can keep an eye on it while working elsewhere.
The tool follows the standard cycle: after every fourth completed pomodoro it automatically switches to a longer break instead of a short one, then returns to focus. You can also press the skip button to jump to the next phase whenever you like.
Your today count, focus-time total and all-time pomodoro total are stored locally in this browser, along with your chosen session lengths. The today count resets at local midnight. Clearing your browser data or using a different device or browser starts the tally fresh, since nothing is stored on a server.
If you grant notification permission, the timer sends a desktop alert when a focus block or break finishes while the tab is in the background, so you can step away without watching the clock. It also plays a sound cue on completion.
