About Markdown Editor
Markdown's whole appeal is writing formatted text without leaving the keyboard — but you still want to see what **bold**, tables and code blocks will actually look like. This editor renders your Markdown live as you type: source on the left, formatted preview on the right (on phones, a Write/Preview toggle keeps both full-width). A toolbar covers bold, italic, headings, links, code, lists and quotes, and the usual shortcuts work too: Ctrl/Cmd+B, Ctrl/Cmd+I and Ctrl/Cmd+K for links. A running word and character count sits in the corner.
Your document auto-saves to your browser's local storage moments after you stop typing — close the tab, come back tomorrow, and it is exactly where you left it. Nothing is sent to a server: parsing, preview and export all happen in the browser, and the rendered preview is sanitised with DOMPurify so pasted HTML cannot execute scripts.
When you are done, export three ways: copy the rendered HTML to your clipboard for pasting into a CMS or email tool, download the raw .md file, or download a complete standalone .html page with a clean stylesheet baked in — it opens correctly in any browser with no external dependencies. The parser handles standard Markdown plus common extensions like tables and fenced code blocks, and single line breaks render as real line breaks, matching how most chat and note apps treat Markdown.

It persists across sessions, but it is tied to this browser: it will not follow you to another device, and clearing site data deletes it. For anything you want to keep permanently, download the .md file, which is a plain text file you can store or version-control anywhere.
Standard Markdown plus the extensions most people expect: headings, bold and italics, links and images, ordered and unordered lists, inline code and fenced code blocks, blockquotes, tables and horizontal rules. Line breaks are rendered literally — a single Enter produces a new line in the preview, the way GitHub comments and most chat apps behave, rather than requiring a double space.
Write or paste your Markdown, then either click "Copy HTML" to put the rendered markup on your clipboard — handy for pasting into a CMS body field or an email builder — or download the .html file for a complete styled page. The download embeds its own CSS, so headings, code blocks and tables look right when the file is opened on its own.
Yes: Ctrl+B (Cmd+B on Mac) wraps the selection in bold, Ctrl/Cmd+I in italics, and Ctrl/Cmd+K turns it into a link. The toolbar buttons do the same for headings, inline code, lists and blockquotes — select some text first and the formatting wraps around it, keeping your selection in place.
The preview is sanitised with DOMPurify before it is rendered, which strips scripts, event handlers and other executable content from the output. That means pasting Markdown containing raw HTML from an untrusted source will not run code in your browser — you will simply see the safe subset of the markup rendered.
