Questions about Widgie

What is Widgie?
Home and lock screen widgets for Indian families: photos of the people you love, countdowns to the days that matter, festivals and today's panchang, and a daily thought in English and Hindi, all in themes that match.
Why does a festival date differ from my calendar?
Indian festivals are set by the lunar calendar, so different regions may mark them on different days. Widgie uses published sources for the region you pick and cross-checks them with panchang calculations of its own; dates that depend on moon sighting are marked as tentative.
Does Widgie need my location?
No. It never asks for location access; you choose your place in Settings, and the panchang is calculated on the phone from that.
Which festivals can it show?
Set your region, then switch on any of Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Muslim, Christian and Parsi festivals, plus national days. Ekadashi, Purnima and Amavasya reminders are optional.
Do the widgets work on the lock screen?
Yes. Many types, including countdown, festival, panchang, to-do and habit, have lock-screen versions, and all small widgets also work in StandBy on iPhone.
When can I get Widgie?
Widgie is coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. Its website, widgie.wdlab.app, will link to the stores the day it is live.
Which phones does Widgie run on?
iOS and Android.
Who makes Widgie?
Widgie is made by Workaholic Developers, an international software company with teams in Canada and India, which also builds ClassTrack, Mailaholic and the Noodle games.
