Questions about Dastavo

What is Dastavo?

Pick from 292 documents, fill in the client once, and print a court-ready affidavit, deed or notice in Punjabi, Hindi or English on A4, legal or stamp paper — from your phone or the shop computer. Free, no ads.

Do I have to learn a new keyboard layout?

No. Pick the layout your fingers already know, such as Asees, AnmolLipi, Kruti Dev, DevLys, Remington or INSCRIPT, or type phonetically. Text is always saved as Unicode, and a Word file in a legacy font can still be exported.

Can I use Dastavo without signing in?

Yes. Documents can be made and printed without an account; an account is only needed if you want to sync between your phone and the shop computer or a second phone. A computer is linked by scanning a QR code, with no password.

Where are my clients' details kept?

On your phone, with Aadhaar stored masked. If you turn on sync, details are kept encrypted on the server and used for nothing else, and you can export or delete any client at any time.

Does Dastavo replace a lawyer?

No. It helps you prepare documents but is not a law firm and gives no legal advice; templates say so until a lawyer has reviewed them. Have important documents checked by a lawyer.

When can I get Dastavo?

Dastavo works today in your browser at dastavo.wdlab.app/app/. The phone apps are coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. Its website, dastavo.wdlab.app, will link to the stores the day it is live.

Which phones does Dastavo run on?

iOS and Android.
